Business Practice Issues & Consumer Concerns

1st Credit of America

aka:
First Credit of America

There are numerous complaints of abusive behavior by this collection agency. Evidence has been presented to us that 1st Credit of America does indeed treat people in the manner represented in the Better Business Bureau report. The evidence also indicates that this company misidentifies debtors on occasion and pursues the wrong people when collecting debts. Please remember, it can be difficult for companies to control all of their employees, but companies that truly care about customer service will appreciate your feedback. Visit this page to understand your rights and take action.

JumPage Solutions and Advertising Networks

aka:
Metro YP,
Metroyp.net,
INC21.COM,
Globalyp.net,
Netopus,
GoFaxer.com,
INC21 Communications

JumPage Solutions uses a technique known as "cramming" to charge for unwanted services by having the charges added to your phone bill. They do send a new account welcome letter that details the services and mentions that your phone bill will contain charges for these services. Companies that send such letters are often looking for businesses that will automatically pay the invoices on the assumption that they owe the money or ignore the letter knowing that they did not request the services. If you ignore the letter, the charges will automatically appear on your phone statement. Imbedding their charges within your phone bill further helps obfuscate the source of the charge. Go to this page for more information and the steps necessary to avoid or reverse these charges.

Why We Are Here

Raise Awareness: We have created these web pages about specific companies that may have violated the public trust and we are working with search engine experts to make sure that this information can be easily found by people needing this information.

Client consumers often do not know where to turn for help when dealing with a company that they have either: hired to represent them, purchased products from, or purchased services from. If the company in question is not ethically or correctly addressing their complaint or business issues, it is essential that they know where to go to find information about the company.

Potential Clients need access to resources for researching any company with which they may be considering entering into a contractual / business agreement.

Non-client consumers often do not know where to turn for help when they are being harassed by a company that is acting improper while performing on behalf of their client.

1st Consumer makes no claim about the companies that we report on, we simply point you at the appropriate resources and put the power of decision making and submitting feedback into your hands.

The Better Business Bureau is an outstanding and completely objective organization that gathers information from both business and consumers to compile dynamic reports that are designed to keep the public informed. We want to make sure that you know of the existence of those reports in specific cases.

State Licensing Agencies are often overlooked by the public but are important organizations that want your feedback about the businesses in their state. This is because they are in the best position to actually discipline a business or revoke a license, should that become necessary. Without consumer feedback, these state organizations are often too busy or overworked to notice problem companies within their jurisdiction.

Membership Organizations can also be pressed upon to monitor and correct the behavior of their member companies. If you find yourself in a dispute with any company that claims memberships, seek out those organizations and provide feedback.

The reports, complaint forms, and web sites that this consumer alert highlights help give the consumer a voice and the ability to make the world a better place. All businesses and the people in them CAN live up to the highest ethical standards, some just need a little encouragement.
